Auto-Dinghy

Self driving car tech is getting really good. Eventually we will have component packages that can autonomously operate vehicles of any type. The people who travel or live on sailboats will really enjoy having dinghies that can drop them at the dock and then return safely back to their anchored boat. There are very few ports that are friendly to day dinghy docking and it can be expensive and you always risk getting your dinghy stolen. If your dinghy could safely navigate back to it's home ship, and avoid other traffic and obstacles along the way, it could attach itself and patiently await your beckoning it from a cell phone app. Of course this would probably only work with electric outboards because even in the age of self driving vehicles, an outboard motor that reliably starts is still twenty years off.
